A Black and White Halloween
I love Halloween. Seriously love it. I think my favorite part about it is all the fun decor. This year I thought it would be cool to decorate our living and dining room in black and white. Kind of spooky yet classy at the same time.
I used my Cricut Expression and the Mini Monsters cartridge to cut out these fun shapes for our white frames.
For our dining table, we used a ton of black candle holders, taper candles, faux crows and white pumpkins.
And of course, we had to have some little ghosties flying around.
Halloween has been on my mind so much lately, and weve done so much to prepare that I cant believe its still 2 1/2 weeks away!

5 Bloody Halloween Cocktails
Being as its my second Halloween as a 21+ year old person in the US (despite the fact that I was in the UK for two Halloweens when I was 18 and 20 so I have boozed up... but anyway) Ive had Halloween cocktails on my mind. To celebrate my bold Halloween tradition of pretty much always going as a vampire, Ive also been experimenting with blood cocktails. So, here are five blood-themed adult treats Ive been trying and loving for the Halloween season.
Note: If youre under the legal drinking age of your country, virgin Halloween punches and mocktails are pretty easy to come across. When in doubt, add food coloring and a fancy garnish.
This Bloody Orange cocktail is all about the presentation. Homemade raspberry syrup is placed into a plastic syringe for the guests to squirt into a fruity orange mix, creating a bloody blob in their drink.
This white coconut martini is made bloody by the lovely red rim garnish. Theoretically you could add this bloody rim to any drink, alcoholic or not, but I think it just looks delightfully spooky with the white martini.
This bloody shot is created by our own Goth darling Its Black Friday on Youtube as a sequel to her black death alcoholic punch and is a mixture of cherry brandy and Grenadine. Watch her mix it up on her Youtube video here.
Milkshakes are well-loved around here and this bloody twist is absolutely perfect for a Halloween celebration. This recipe actually has no alcohol, but Ive made it with various boozy add-ins like Rumchata and Brandy and all are super good.
This is a standard martini recipe that has a bit of a twist: a bloody heart in the middle! The secret to this bleeding-heart martini is a baby beat which serves to redden the water and looks like a creepy little bloody heart. I like beets and this idea is really cute.

5 Classic Monster Themed Outfits to Wear on Halloween
Halloween coming up, are you prepared? Candy, horror flicks, nightclub or party ready to go? What about an outfit? If youre not going for a full costume this year, how about an outfit that many Goths could probably pull out of their closets with just a few extra touches? With a bit of makeup, these are super easy to pull off.
Vampire
The classic look would, obviously, be the vampire. A plain, if low cut, black dress pairs wonderfully with bat, coffin, skull, and ankh themed accessories. I like my vampires dripping with blood, which is a bit impractical for daily wear, but a bit of red eyeliner at the corner of your mouth or little puncture dots on your neck would get the point across. Extra points awarded for vampire fangs.
Witch
To get a witch look, pair flowy black fabrics with vintage looking touches like lace cuffs or a capelet. I added pretty dagger earrings and a witches hat, both of which can be DIYed. If you like, add a stuffed black cat or DIY Halloween broom to the look. Witchy face makup optional.
Werewolf
While I personally cant pull this look out of my closet, I know enough of you have some things left over from your shameful raver pasts (mostly kidding) to do so. I cant be the only alternative type who went to a middle school where raver fluffies, ears, and faux fox tails were daily wear for some of the weird kids? Anyway, time to dig all of those things out and slap them on with a moon phase t-shirt, ripped jeans, and maybe some bullet earrings or a silver bullet belt for irony and you have a completed werewolf look.

A Halloween Recap
I am telling you, this past month was crazy. Seriously, crazy. Between keeping up with orders and craft shows, Finley busting up his mouth and getting stitches, school, Halloween hoopla, and our regular toddler madness, I am beat!! In the midst of the chaos, we had an amazing Halloween with the family complete with an eyeball toss, donkey pinata, and ghostie treasure hunt.
As most of you know, Finley insisted on being a purple Mini Cooper.
Hes been waiting weeks for the chance to wear this costume and "drive" down the street. But when the time came, he decided hed rather tow it than wear it.
Oliver was going to be a ghost and we made a cool little costume out of cheese cloth (thanks to one of my commenters for the suggestion!). Sadly, we couldnt keep the eye holes lined up with his actual eyes and had to ditch the ghost at the last minute. Fortunately, we had Finleys old puppy dog costume on hand and Oliver makes a ridiculously cute puppy.
The day was so perfect that my little guys actually got along and sat for some cutie brotherly pictures. (A major rarity.)
I love Halloween but Im glad its over. Im looking forward to moving on and preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
