The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape. According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told Punch Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended. He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems. The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013.He said,
“Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital.“A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse. I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter.“She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”
The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl’s demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy.The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping. The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.The alleged rapist’s parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos. The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused.Jigo said,
“I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement. They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.“After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.”It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father’s hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.The teenager’s parents, however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.The 14-year-old boy’s father, Andrew Adimabua, said,
“I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.“We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he’ll be taken to the police for questioning.”Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.”

Tolani Ajayi, the 21year old Redeemer University student who
hacked his father to death on Tuesday July 3rd, has finally spoken to reporters about what led him to kill his own dad. Speaking to journalists today at the Eleweran Police
Headquarters, Abeokuta, Tolani said he attacked his father
after he (the father) beat him with a stick, which he said made him very angry.
"There is no way Nigerians can help me. I am going to face
my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is
not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable -
something that is going to happen; I am just waiting for it.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. when the church would
have been sleeping by then. It was anger that led me to this.
There was an argument between us and I stood up to him.
He beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth repeatedly.
Just the two of us were at home; my mother was in Abuja,"

According to Premium Times, when asked if he was under the
influence of any drugs when he attacked his father, Tolani
admitted taking drugs but denied he was on drugs on the day
of the murder, saying it was more spiritual.
He also said it was not planned. He said his father was the one that first went to the kitchen to get a wooden spoon which he used to hit him. Tolani then went into the kitchen, took a knife and cutlass and attacked his father.
"I tried to defend myself, then he bit me on my shoulder and
I got angry. I used normal small kitchen knife then I used a
cutlass to attack him. I regret the action,"
"My mother is still grieving. I have sent some people to talk
to her that I am sorry. I want to give her time. I have talked
to my sister. I have asked for forgiveness," he said.
Tolani said that his family resides in Abuja while he lived at the Redeemed Church, RCCG, camp.
"My father came for a programme; then, my school was on
break so I went to meet him. We were meant to go back to
Abuja together then the incident happened and I am here,"
he said.
Premium Times reports that Tolani was into drugs and had
been caught twice by the authorities of Redeemer University.
The school had set up a panel to question him on the alleged
drug offence before he killed his father.

Yesterday morning we lost a great man: Dr Issam Al-Rawi, a geology scientist and in the same time a moderate Sunni who used to make the gap between the Sunnis and Shiites leading personalities smaller.
Just a while before being attacked, Al-Rawi was on TV interview urging the Iraqis to comply with Mecca Code leaving aside the sectarian violence. He was attacked in Al-Dawoodi neighborhood, west Baghdad, where his house is, shortly after leaving his home toward the Baghdad University. Two other profs were with him; the both were wounded. The attack took place yesterday morning (Oct 30). The killers blocked his way then began shooting him. (According to the eyewitnesses Al-Rawi who used to go every where without bodyguards; a white four wheel drive vehicle - Land Cruse 2004- almost used by the high-ranking officials in the ministry of the interior affairs and this vehicle is the “trade mark” of the Shiite death squads backed by the some high-ranking officers and officials inside the ministry; there were four persons in the car, the driver, one was protecting the other two who shot Al-Rawi and the car escaped in front of a National Guards check point toward Al-Mansour area. Many previous reports confirmed that the former minister of the interior, the minister of finance now, Bayan Jabr and the former Prime Minister Al-Jaafari, gave tens of such vehicles to the death squads.)
According to his friends and family, the Death Squads were after his assassination. But I think the following:
• The occupation forces and the “Iraqi” police special forces raided his office ( the League of the Iraqi Universities Profs) which was established by him to defend the profs rights and lives, on Oct 19 (the Iraqi police special forces are almost Shiites; many reports confirmed its links with death squads). He issued a communiqué on Oct 28 condemning the raid through which the doors were broken, the literary was messed; the office of Al-Rawi- the president of the league and his deputy office were searched. He finished the communiqué saying, “we are putting I front of the nobles in the world and the patriot Iraqis some of the acts of the alleged democracy and liberation.”
• He taught in Erbil University from the late eighties till April 2003; there he began relation with the Islamic Kurdish parties; he kept the relation till his martyrdom. (the two leading Kurdish parties PUK of Talbani and PDK of Barzani) have no good relation with the Islamist Kurds who are opposing the relation with US and Israel.
• Many parties in Iraq; especially Al-Qaeda and Mahdy army are trying to shut down the education system in Iraq, while Al-Rwai was insisting to go to the school of science- geology departments where he was a prof. (by the way the first PhD was given in geology in Baghdad University was given to Al-Rawi in the late seventies).
Those criminals who killed Al-Rawi, hit many birds by one stone:
They killed the most moderate voice in the Association of the Moslem Scholars; they killed a leading Sunni personality who used to visit and talk with the Shiite clerics and they killed the prof who led the league that used to defend them; i.e.; the whole profs are an open target.
by the killing of Al-Rawi, the toll of Iraqi profs and academics who were killed under the ocupation became 300!!
the painful thing is the WORLD is still wtching the Hell in Iraq without thinking even in saying a word of sorry to the Iraqis. What does the world waite for?
