I will release three books on the same day.  All brand new material, different genres.
As a special bonus for readers, Im setting all three books at 0.99 for that weekend.  The books are:
The Girl From Tenerife
The Manifesto of Independent Writing and Publishing
and Tiny Dragons 1: The Sky Dragons
Thank you to all the pre-readers and people whove been in contact with me about these three projects.  I am extremely excited to see what you think of them.

2nd Verse

2nd Verse

This post is for Monkee. My "Why I love the Mother Road" essay if you will.

Why I love the Mother Road.

Yes, this is Rt. 66, I took this pic while driving back to work from lunch.

The Mother Road is my favorite road because I can eat at places like the Metro Diner on this road.

The Metro Diner has the BEST breakfast for not a whole lotta money! The sign there reads "Elvis eats here"

I also like the Mother Road because in or not too far from Tulsa you can see things like these:

A Big Blue Whale - in OKLAHOMA!

and
The Admiral Twin, a double sided drive-in. The best prices in town. 6.50 for an adult, 2.00 for kids and you CAN bring your own food! And its ALWAYS a double feature!

and
This is the wall around my old school - painted with really cool pics of all the states on the Mother Road.

Also - a lot of my all time favorite movie, The Outsiders, was filmed on or near Rt 66.

BUT, the number one reason I love the Mother Road is: It takes me home from work EVERY DAY!

PS - I also love I-35 because, come September, it will take me to meet Monkee!

2nd Pine

2nd Pine

Spring is finally in the air here in Philly and I could not be more joyous. This winter wasnt a particularly cold one but it was a sad time for me and I couldnt be happier to see it go away forever. Needless to say, I wasted no time getting my breezy dresses out of storage.

This Free People dress is one of my all-time favorites. Come summer, Ill be wearing it every other day. (Check out the last time I wore it on the blog here.) Even though it was 80 yesterday (I know, right?) I still wanted to pair it with some jeans because A. I didnt want to fly too close to the sun, and B. my legs are pretty white right now.

An outfit like this is perfect for shopping and iced tea (Or coffee. Im not here to tell you what to do.) so Danielle and I did just that. Society Hill is one of my favorite places to go in the springtime because there are just so many places to walk to. After shopping and a shoot on South Street, we stopped at Bodhi then wandered down a historic street.

Hope youre all enjoying this weather as well!

2nd Annual Tour de Coops

2nd Annual Tour de Coops

When the idea of being chicken owners was just bouncing around in our heads last year, we had the opportunity to attend the 1st Annual Tour de Coops in the greater Phoenix area. The Tour de Coops is a self-guided tour of the valleys coolest chicken setups. (Kind of like one of those holiday home tours but way cooler).

We had an amazing time touring the different chicken set ups at different homes throughout the valley and talking with the owners. It was after attending the tour that we decided raising urban poultry was definitely in our future and set off with plans for our own coop filled with baby chicks (you can read all about the beginning of our chicken adventure here).

A couple of months ago, the Phoenix Permaculture Guild put out a "call for coops" to be on this years tour. We were all over that and quickly submitted our detailed application. Once they looked over our application, they sent someone over to check out our coop to ensure that it was seriously cool (and it totally is). They agreed and this year our cool little coop (as well as our chickens, gardens, trees, etc.) will be on display for this years tour. You all know how much I like to talk about my chickens and now I get to do it for an entire day - with a captive audience! Absolute heaven for me.

If you are in the Phoenix area and have any sort of interest in urban poultry or even urban gardening, I highly recommend this tour. Its a blast and a great way to connect with like minded people.
