60s Fireplace Find

60s Fireplace Find

How was your weekend? Mine was great. Relaxed, hung out at home, and did a little work.

Yesterday, I was headed home from a clients house (Im doing a little decorating for someone in the neighborhood), and saw a yardsale. I immediately did a U-turn, because I saw this vintage fireplace and HAD to have it. I have been researching fireplaces lately. Thats the only feature that our house doesnt have that we really wish it did. I was going to get a fake electric one from a hardware store, or on Overstock (Overstock has some decent ones if you are in the market), but we dont have a great wall for it. The only wall that I would put it on actually has an air vent return on it, so that wouldnt work. Anyway, when I saw this one, that sits out in the open AND is vintage -- I knew it had to be mine .

this was it at the yardsale.

Its electric, from the 60s and has a little light-up feature that makes it look like its burning wood. When its turned on, it kind of looks like when a fire is about to go completely out. I love it!

It was only $150 at the yardsale. Jordan and I looked them up on eBay, and they were selling for around $800. I plan to paint the red part... probably white?
