6 JURUS MENGAMANKAN AKUN FACEBOOK DARI HACKER
Ratusan orang tiap hari kehilangan akun Facebook mereka karena dibajak hacker. Facebook memang membayar mahal untuk membuat sekuriti super canggih, tapi tetap saja para hacker lebih pintar. Ada saja cara mereka mencuri akun member Facebook. Tujuannya bermacam-macam, dari yang cuma sekedar iseng, tidak suka dengan pemilik akun sampai yang bertujuan penipuan. Wow, serem juga khan?Eits, Jangan panik dulu. Ada kok trik-trik untuk melindungi akun Facebook kita. Tidak begitu rumit dan banyak orang bisa melakukannya. Oke, langsung saja ini dia:
1. Aktifkan Mode HTTPS
Dengan menggunakan HTTPS ketimbang HTTP biasa berarti kamu sudah mengamankan komunikasi antara komputer kamu dengan server. Tidak ada seorangpun yang bisa meng-hack informasi yang kamu kirimkan ke server. Browser versi terbaru umumnya akan mengidentifikasi secure URL berikut sertifikasinya. Masih bingung? Inilah contoh screenshot membuka Facebook dalam secure mode lewat Firefox.
Cara untuk mengaktifkan mode HTTPS adalah
- Login ke akun Facebook.
- Pilih menu “Account” yang terletak di pojok kanan atas, dan kemudian pilih “Account Settings.”
- Pilih menu “Security” dan lanjutkan ke “Secure Browsing.”
- Pada “Secure Browsing” centang kotak disamping “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible.”
- Save changes.
2. Aktifkan Login Ganda
Bukan cuma sepeda motor yang harus dikunci ganda, Facebook juga lho. Dengan mengaktifkan login ganda, kamu wajib memasukkan kode tambahan disamping password. Cara ini mirip ketika kamu membuat akun e-mail di Gmail. Untuk mengaktifkannya centang kotak pada opsi “Login Approvals” dalam menu “Security.” Kamu akan diminta membuat kode pilihan. Selanjutnya Facebook akan mengirimkan kode itu lewat SMS ke nomor HP kamu.
3. Periksa E-mail Phising dan Scam Atas Nama Facebook
Ketika main Facebook pernahkah kamu melihat link asing yang berisi promosi, video atau situs tertentu? Jangan pernah mengklik link mencurigakan meskipun dikirim oleh temanmu. Phising (pencurian akun) dan scam (penipuan) umumnya berjalan mulus di link yang banyak disebar hacker.
Salah satu cara kerjanya adalah ketika kamu mengklik link itu kamu akan dibawa ke halaman palsu yang mirip Facebook. Disana kamu diminta memasukkan login dan password kamu. Jika itu kamu lakukan, hacker akan merekam informasi yang telah kamu masukkan. Berikutnya? Ucapkan selamat tinggal pada akun Facebookmu.
Selain itu kamu juga mesti waspada ketika membaca pesan dari Facebook. Penipu biasanya mengirimkan e-mail seolah dari Facebook yang meminta kamu mengupdate akun atau mengomentari wallpost. Mereka juga menyertakan sebuah link yang jika diklik membuka halaman Facebook palsu. Apapun bentuknya, jangan pernah mengklik link atau mengupdate akun selain dari browser yang kamu ketikkan secara manual.4. Aktikan Login Notifications
Login notifications berguna untuk mengingatkan kamu ketika seseorang login ke akunmu dari tempat atau komputer yang mencurigakan. Fungsi ini juga penting ketika kamu membuka Facebook dari komputer atau koneksi internet yang sama. Jika opsi ini diaktifkan, ketika kamu atau orang lain membuka akun Facebookmu, maka kamu akan menerima notifikasi tentang aktivitas yang mencurigakan.
Cara mengaktifkannya adalah:
- Login ke akun Facebook.
- Pilih menu “Account” yang terletak di pojok kanan atas, dan kemudian pilih “Account Settings.”
- Pilih menu “Security” dan lanjutkan ke “Login notification.”
- Centanglah dua kotak untuk “Send me an email” dan “Send me a text message.”
- Save changes.
Ketika kamu sudah mengaktifkan opsi ini periksalah secara teratur Facebook login history. Disana akan ada keterangan IP address terakhir yang dipakai untuk login ke akunmu.
5. Menggunakan “One Time Password”
Pernah membuka Facebook dari warnet atau komputer umum? Jika terpaksa melakukannya, maka gunakanlah “one time password.” Disini kamu akan membuat sebuah password yang hanya bisa digunakan sekali dan akan kedaluarsa dalam waktu 20 menit sejak dibuat. Untuk memakai layanan ini kamu harus memasukkan lebih dulu nomor HP kamu ke Facebook. Caranya: pilih “Account” ? “Account Setting” ? “Mobile.”
Berikutnya pada tab “Mobile” kamu sudah bisa menggunakan HP untuk mengaktifkan “One Time Password” ini. Password akan dikirim Facebook lewat SMS dan kamu bisa menggunakannya untuk login.6. Periksa Aplikasi yang akan Digunakan
Facebook punya banyak aplikasi, tapi tidak semuanya aman. Sebelum menginstall, cek dulu di internet apakah aplikasi itu legitimate alias punya rating yang bagus. Hindari menginstall aplikasi mencurigakan meskipun kelihatan menarik.
